REFRESHING
At Redwood Glen, our goal is for everyone to leave a retreat or conference feeling refreshed – spiritually, physically and mentally. We offer a wide variety of accommodations, recreation choices, and facility options to meet your needs, your goals, and your budget. Whether your group is 20 or 200, and you want a weekend retreat, midweek conference or a week-long camp, Redwood Glen’s varied meeting rooms, sleeping accommodations, and dining rooms give us the flexibility to meet the diverse needs of groups from all over the Bay Area.
PEACEFUL
Surrounded by God’s creation and splendor, you’ll feel renewed among the redwoods. Redwood Glen is a short drive from the greater Bay Area, yet provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere where you can leave behind the noise, stress, and distractions of everyday life. You can enjoy a leisurely walk or spirited hike along the many trails at the camp or at Memorial County Park or Pescadero Creek County Park, both adjacent to our camp property. Or you can enjoy a scenic 15-minute drive to one of the beaches along the Pacific Ocean where you will experience thundering ocean waves and hear a symphony of birds, while walking in the sand and exploring the tide pools. Because we want our guests to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the tall redwood forests in these Santa Cruz mountains, we’ve developed less than one-third of Redwood Glen’s 165 acres, which is home to blacktail deer, raccoons, birds, and many types of trees, brush, and flowers.
CONVENIENT
Redwood Glen can be reached in 60-90 minutes from the greater San Francisco Bay Area, making Redwood Glen a great choice for your group’s next event. From San Francisco and the East Bay you will enjoy a beautiful 15-mile drive down the coast on Highway 1 south of Half Moon Bay, and then a short 10-mile drive through the countryside near historic Pescadero. From the South Bay you will enjoy some incredible views as you make your way along Highway 84 over the Santa Cruz Mountains toward La Honda, and then a short 5.3-mile drive to the camp.Come and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and let us share our hospitality with you.
OUR HISTORY AND OUR MINISTRY
Redwood Glen is a non-profit, church-related camp and conference center in Loma Mar, California, owned and operated by the Redwood Glen board of directors, and founded on the grace of God through the hard work of local churches and many faithful men and women.
Originally founded in 1958 as a ministry of local American Baptist Churches, Redwood Glen today serves local churches and non-profit organizations through our programs and our facilities. Though we are now an independent ministry, we are grateful for our American Baptist heritage as we continue to witness for Jesus Christ and bring the good news of God’s love to all. In all our departments and through our staff, we strive to fulfill our mission which is “to reflect Christ by serving others.”
Throughout our 60 year history, Redwood Glen has hosted thousands of churches, schools, organizations, and groups for week-long summer camps, weekend retreats and conferences, and day-use events. With our commitment to provide the best service for our guests, our facilities have grown since our founding, with cabins, lodges, and meeting spaces built and improved. In 1995 the Douglas L. Siden Conference Center, a 22-room hotel-style facility, was added.
Currently, Redwood Glen offers week-long summer programmed camps for children and youth, and year-round rental facilities for week-long camps, events, conferences, and weekend retreats for various churches and non-profit organizations. For more information on our availability, please contact our Guest Services staff at (650) 879-0320.
